How we approach each engagement
Our approach to every type of work follows a few consistent principles. We begin by understanding the situation fully before forming a view. We write things down so that the record belongs to the client. We work at a pace that the circumstances allow rather than one that suits us. And when something falls outside our scope, we say so.
Understand first
We take time to understand the full picture of your situation before forming any view or recommendation.
Put it in writing
Every appointment produces a written record that you own and can refer to, share, or build upon at any point.
Adapt as needed
The pace and intensity of our work adjusts to match what the matter requires at any given point — not a fixed schedule.
Listening Appointment
A first listening appointment in which we ask only the questions that help us understand your situation, and then prepare a short written note setting out the position in plain English. Please take the note away; there is no expectation to act on it unless you decide to do so.
- No prior preparation needed from you
- Written note provided within two working days
- No obligation to continue beyond the appointment
- Available in person at our Johor Bahru office or by telephone
How it works
- 1Contact us to arrange a time — we respond within one working day
- 2Attend the appointment (60–90 minutes); we listen and ask questions
- 3Receive a written note of the position as we understand it
- 4Read, keep, or share the note — then decide what, if anything, to do next
Mediated Agreement Drafting
Drafting and review of mediated agreements covering divorce, custody, and financial provision. We help translate the points reached in mediation into a written agreement that is clear, balanced, and capable of standing through any future review. The work includes one round of revisions at no additional cost.
- Covers divorce, custody, and financial provision
- Identifies gaps or ambiguities in the mediation record
- One full round of revisions included
- Drafted to withstand future legal review
How it works
- 1Share the mediation record and any supporting notes with us
- 2We review and clarify any points that need resolution before drafting
- 3A complete draft agreement is delivered within two to three weeks
- 4One round of revisions is completed; final agreement is produced
Long-term Family Representation
A complete engagement for family matters that need ongoing support over months rather than weeks. The work covers court representation, mediated review, and continuing correspondence with the other party's representatives. We adjust the rhythm of the work whenever the circumstances of the family ask for it.
- Court representation in Johor proceedings
- Mediated review sessions as circumstances require
- All correspondence with other parties handled
- Pace adjusts to what the matter needs at each stage
How it works
- 1Begin with a Listening Appointment to establish the full picture
- 2We take on the engagement and manage all ongoing correspondence
- 3Represent you at hearings and mediation sessions as they arise
- 4Continue until the matter reaches a stable resolution
